Wooden Sword by Fenrisian-Wolf Wooden Sword by Fenrisian-Wolf
Made this a while ago but only just finished it off recently.

The handle and blade were made from one piece of timber and the hilt was made separately and slotted over the handle and then I added the pommel and power conduits last.

Power swords are used by Space Marines which belong to GW.

One day, we just moved and that is still at the old house, it's being looked after by the new tenants, along with some other stuff.

is that heavy? seems like a sword like that made of wood thats worth using would be heavy.

Nope, it's pretty light weight, and I don't intend on using it. It's not a weapon, it's an ornament.

I want to paint it if I can find some good metallic paints for timber.

And thanks, I'm glad you like it.

*drums fingers* the problem with that is that the grain will always show through paints unless its super thick and you definitely dont want that. consider airbrushing?

Well, that mainly happens when sanding, worse when sanding with the grain. The blade, handle and hilt were all planed and pared down so they are dead flat, I'm certain of that. The only part that was shaped by sanding was the pommel but I made sure to go across the grain at all times so it shouldn't be a major issue. But I'll admit, airbrushing is a good way to paint, especially on large pieces like this. I'll definitely consider it.

(Only problem is; I've never airbrushed. Ever.)
